The debut solo exhibition of Berlin based painter Moritz Lindu, “kein Platz, keine Zeit” outlines the last remnants of human uniqueness, or rather its loss in the age of an increasingly time-poor and depersonalized society. Closely examine a person´s signiture, it´s a gateway to a hidden personality. A looking glass that through careful study enables us to gaze directly at meticulously guarded psyches and characteristics. Handwriting for example can tell us what the writer was feeling in a specific moment by the angle and the depth of the ink on the paper. An elusive and mysterious memento left behind, there if you want to see it.
The shadows of non digital humanity. There was a time when we could recognize the handwriting of our mothers, our friends, our teachers, but as we move into an ever digital world, our ability to read, distinguish or recall this disappears. In an era that´s becoming rapidly overloaded with information and never ending de-personalized content, “kein Platz, keine Zeit” is an antithesis. A deliberate denial of content. If you take the time and test your internet-shortened attention span you will unlock in these six works a world of coded emotion and character. In a world where everything is visible all at once, what you read and what you feel from these six paintings is entirely of your own volition. It´s all there for you to see, if you want to.
